Our learning programme all takes the equivalent of one day of learning, typically split into two sessions over two days. The first module will educate you on the water crisis, the second about the importance of water-saving and the third will empower you with actionable ways to make a difference. The entire course is driven by research and it’s both accessible and action-oriented.

Learning Modules
This module is designed to give you a solid understanding of the UK’s water resources, usage, sector and efficiency. You’ll learn about the big challenges the UK faces, water efficiency and its connection to leakage, and the impact of water on the environment and society.
This module will expand upon your base understanding, providing fascinating insights on the importance of water to our society. You’ll find out why water demand is increasing and understand why saving water is absolutely crucial.
This module is all about action, turning drops of knowledge into a wave of change. From behavioural change models like COM-B, APEASE and East, to identifying water-saving actions you can take at home, work and in your community, you’ll graduate fully empowered to play your part.

Water literacy is incredibly important and the course content is driven by research and decades of expertise from a range of leading industry groups. But, we have put great effort into making the style of learning accessible, interactive and action-oriented. To become water literate, learners will need to complete an online accreditation form, demonstrating their knowledge and outlining the actions they will take – both as individual change-makers at home and as group change-makers in the workplace or community.
We believe you will graduate with your water literacy accreditation, feeling inspired, motivated and ready to spread the message. This programme is taught live and has set dates, but it’s up to you whether you would rather book onto an online or an in-person course. The first 2000 places are fully-funded too, so this is a great chance to learn and be a part of a vital environmental movement.

Expected outcomes
You will leave this course with a firm understanding of water scarcity and ready to embed changes that help to save water and spread our wave of change. You will be able to explain the close link between climate change and water, and the impact of water usage on the environment. You’ll be able to apply your learnings to your own life, saving water and money at home, in your communities and at work. Your accreditation will give you credence as a certified expert and empower you to spread this vital message to others.
